The Chinese mixed double Zheng/Huang was back at their best after they were forced to retire from Korea Open back in September. They crushed Jordan/Oktavianti in two straight sets for the second time this year.

Siwei Zheng/Yaquiong Huang won without any trouble against Praveen Jordan/Malati Daeva Oktavianti with the scores 21-14, 21-7. After the match, they were surprised how easy the victory was secured:

- To be honest, we expected much more competition. Having said that, I think we did a very good job playing today, the winners said after the match. Listen to the full interview below.

The current World Champions Siwei Zheng/Yaqiong Huang played their first match at DANISA DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR this Wednesday in Odense Idrætshal.

The mixed double have had a very successful 2018 winning six tournaments including the World Championships, China Open and Japan Open. This made them pre-tournament favourites. First step towards victory was to beat the Indonesians Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti.

Already from the beginning of the match the Chinese couple showed good strength at the forecourt and furthermore at the first three balls in each rally. This forced Jordan/Oktavianti to act more defensively which meant they had to lift a lot. Zheng/Huang had the upper hand through the whole game and won comfortably with the score of 21-15.

These scenes did not change in the second game. The Chinese World Champions continued to control the match. Jordan/Oktavianti never got the opportunity to play more offensively and make use of Praveen Jordans extremely hard smash.

In the second game the Chinese flew away like a rocket leading 9-1. There was no doubt where the win would end and Zheng/Huang closed the match in two straight sets and they are through to the next round after 26 minutes of play.
