REVIEW: See all the winners of DANISA DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR!

Five matches were played on Sunday in the final round of badminton at DANISA DENMARK OPEN 2018 presented by VICTOR in a round of play that had many exciting matches. 

The first player to lift a trophy was Taiwanese superstar Tai Tzu Ying, who defeated Saina Nehwal in an elegant display of superiority, opening the day with a final score of 21-13, 13-21, 21-6. 

- I am pretty excited, because I really enjoy the competition in Denmark. The Danish are really nice, commented Tai after her win, smiling from ear to ear. 

The last player to honor his country by bringing home a gold medal was Kento Momota, who won against Chou Tien Chen after an intense marathon in three games that went back and forth, both players putting on a show of solid badminton for the many fans that showed up to see the world’s best men’s single in Momota. They did not show up in vain. 

In the men’s doubles category, Kevin Sukamuljo/Marcus Gideon defeated Japanese world’s fourth-best duo of Takeshi Kamura/Keigo Sonoda in a match with lots of dramatic rallies that were met by soaring roars from the crowd. The match ended with the favorites pulling off yet another tournament win among many in 2018. Final score: 21-15, 21-16

The previous match also saw Japanese action as Fukishima/Hirota clashed with fellow countrywomen, Tanaka/Yonemoto - a match, which the former players won after a two-game marathon that ended with a final score of 21-19, 21-16 after 57 minutes.  

The second match of the day was won by Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong, who played against a Thai constellation of Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai. The Chinese couple took home the win in just two sets, winning by 21-16, 21-13. 

- This match meant a lot to me because I have never won anything in Denmark before, so I am very happy, said Zheng Siwei after the final.
