Two prominent Danish withdrawals

The individual European Championships next week will unfortunately be without the Danish world stars Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Carsten Mogensen, who both have withdrawn from the championships due to private reasons.

Sunday the 30th of April in 2017, Kamilla Rytter Juhl was on top of the European Championships-podium with her doubles partner Christinna Pedersen. The same was the case for Carsten Mogensen with Mathias Boe, when they secured the European gold ahead of Mads Conrad/Mads Kolding.

Unfortunately, it will not be possible for the defending men’s and women’s doubles to repeat those accomplishments this year. Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Carsten Mogensen have each reported their withdrawal for the Europeans due to private reasons, which leaves their constellations out of this year’s European Championships.

Both doubles were first-seeded in their respective categories and because of that Badminton Denmark has in cooperation with Team Denmark chosen to scale down the objectives for the Europeans.

Christinna Pedersen will still be taking part in the Europeans in mixed doubles with Mathias Christiansen.

Badminton Denmark would like to ask the press to respect the privacy of the two players and to not make inquiries to them or their partners.
