Last week, Badminton Europe has released another BEC Podcast episode, which is available on Facebook and YouTube, and also available to listen to on SoundCloudSpotify and iTunes.

This episode features some French company as the Women’s Doubles pair Lea Palermo and Delphine Delrue took time to visit the studio.

The current winners of the Belgium International speak about all things badminton, including how they feel ahead of the 2024 Olympics which is set to be held in Paris, France.

A good year for France

Delphine Delrue spoke to BEC Podcast about the year that both the elite French players and the younger stars have had this year.

Delrue was quick to praise the youth of the players for their performances at the European Junior Championships as well as the Youth Olympic Games.

- I think the younger players are very good, we saw this at the European Championships, they won three titles and the team event too, Delphine Delrue told our on-screen presenter Rasmus Bech.

- Arnaud Merkle lost in the semi-final of the Youth Olympics so in the future, we have the ambition to win medals in the world, she said.

- I think we believe a lot that we can do good things on court and the younger players can be inspired from the results, Delrue added.

Olympic Games

Lea Palermo revealed to Badminton Europe that it would be an absolute dream come true to impress in front of their own supporters on home soil, looking ahead to the Paris Olympic Games.

The 24-year old also stated that competing against friends Emile Lefel and Anne Tran does not phase her, ahead of the qualification for Tokyo 2020.

- I think it is huge, it is an amazing opportunity to shine and it is a dream come true. We hope that it can be the reality that we can win in our home country, Lea Palermo said.

- We are friends outside the court but when we enter the court, we just want to do our best to win every match, she commented.
