The Danish men’s doubles lost in three games against Liao and Su from Chinese Taipei.

The last European men’s doubles at the World Championships in Basel lost in the round of the last 16. Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen lost in three games, 19-21 21-12 21-17, to Liao Min Chun and Su Ching Heng from Chinese Taipei in a match that the Danes feel they could have won.

- There were a couple of net shots in the first game, and we were called (fault) for two long serves. That is four points I can find in the first game that did not go our way, Anders Skaarup Rasmussen said.

- They stepped up in the middle of the third game, and we could not push back in the same way as we did in the second game. I am a bit disappointed but still satisfied with the performance despite of our preparations.

Needed just a few percentages
Due to an injury Kim Astrup has not been practicing much since the beginning of July, and pulling out of Indonesia Open and Japan Open was not the ideal preparation ahead of the World Championships.

- I have done everything I could to be as ready as I could be. I think that reflects my performance. I think we can be satisfied with the way we tried to play today, Astrup said.

- We tried to keep up and obviously we just needed a few more percentages today to make the difference. It could have gone either way.
