Badminton Europe welcomes Kosovo

Kosovo is a new Member Association of Badminton Europe.

Badminton Europe is the governing body of badminton in Europe. BEC was founded on 24th of September 1967, in Frankfurt, and now 52 years later Badminton Europe would like to welcome another Member Association.

- I am delighted to welcome Kosovo as our 53rd Member Association. I am glad to see that the European badminton family and the sport continue to grow, Brian Agerbak, General Secretary of Badminton Europe said.

Satisfaction and honour
Badminton Federation of Kosovo is proud to be the newest Member Association of Badminton Europe.

- For Kosovo and for the badminton federation it is with satisfaction and honour that we are now a part of Badminton Europe. It will enable us to gain new experiences, Jeton Nebiu, President of the Badminton Federation of Kosovo stated.

- Having in mind that we are a new federation, the situation is encouraging and positive development is expected within a short period of time, he added.

Kosovo will benefit
Jeton Neibu is confident that badminton in Kosovo will grow and he is looking forward to get advice and input from the European badminton family.

- We will benefit in terms of getting new instructions with concrete projects in training badminton referees and coaches.

Projects in the pipeline
Jeton Neibu is highlighting three upcoming projects for the federation:

- Organizing badminton festivals in Kosovo so that as many children as possible will be involved in the sport
- Training of badminton teachers in all schools of Kosovo
- Organising a series of badminton activities by the end of this year

The Badminton Federation of Kosovo was founded in 2018 and has 255 active players playing in eight different clubs.
