One step closer

Last years runner-up, Stefani and Gabriela Stoeva from Bulgaria, are one step closer to defend their spot in the final at French Open.

The Bulgarian sisters were facing Puttita Supajirakul and Sapsiree Taerattanachai from Thailand in the first round of French Open. They won the match in a close decider 17-21 21-10 21-17.

- We know them pretty well and we knew it would be a tough match. We tried to focus all the time and I think it brought us the win today, Gabriela Stoeva said.

- They put a lot of pressure on us, because last year we were runner-up. But we need to not think about this and just take it match by match and enjoy being on court, Stefani Stoeva added.

Love to be in France
As many other Europeans, the two sisters love to play in Europe and especially in France.

- This is one of our favourite tournaments. We love the crowd, they are supporting us a lot, Gabriela Stoeva stated.

- It is like our second home here, so we just want to do our best in front of everybody, Stefani Stoeva said referring to the fact that the sisters are living in France.

Stefani and Gabriela Stoeva will be playing against either last weeks winner of Denmark Open Baek Ha Na and Jung Kyung Eun from Korea or the third seeded Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi from Japan.
