We move to Saarbrücken in Germany for the SaarLorLux Open, which marks the tenth Super 100 tournament of the 2019 BWF World Tour.

The tournament also marks the much awaited return for Mads Pieler Kolding to the court and the beginning of an exciting new Danish partnership with Olympic silver medalist Carsten Mogensen.

Mathias Boe, Mogensen's former partner and Mads Conrad-Petersen, Kolding's former partner, have already been making great progress up the rankings with positive results. Kolding and Mogensen, seeded eighth, will be hoping for much of the same when they get going too.

What to expect?
Kolding has been out with injury and hasn't played a tournament since February. He will be partnering a player in Mogensen who has won almost everything in the game, but the tall 31-year-old brings a lot of experience himself. In 2016, he won the gold medal at the European Championships in men's doubles and also played a part in the Denmark team who won the Thomas Cup in the same year.

Both players during their careers have been very much in the traditional rear-court role for their respective partnerships. It will therefore be very exciting for fans to see how they perform together, and witness their fire power this week.

Their first opponents will be Chinese pair Fan Qiu Yue and Ren Xiang Yu. A challenging debut, with Ren coming off a great mixed doubles run to the quarterfinals in the Dutch Open.
