China dominated the finals at the SaarLorLux Open in Saarbrücken winning four of the five finals.

Only India’a Lakshya Sen managed to prevent a clean sweep for China, winning the men’s singles, beating his opponent in a three game match: 17-21, 21-18, 21-16.

Europe was represented in three finals - but were all beaten in straight games by their Chinese opponents.

Denmark’s Line Christophersen was unseeded going into the tournament, so she is surely satisfied with reaching the final in the German Super 100-event. In the final of the women’s singles she lost 12-21, 13-21 to China’s Li Yun.

Her countrymen Lasse Mølhede and Mathias Bay-Smidt have also had an impressive week, reaching the final in the men’s doubles. Their opponents in today’s final, Di Zi Jian/Wang Chang were however too strong. The Chinese took the title with a 21-17, 21-15 win.

England’s Chloe Birch and Lauren Smith also had to settle for second place after a straight games loss in the final against their Chinese opponents. Liu Xuan Xuan/Xia Yu Ting won the SaarLorLux Open with a 21-16, 21-13 against Birch and Smith.
