An amazing performance by Rasmus Gemke sent him through to the semi-finals at Fuzhou China Open.

The Danish men’s singles player, Rasmus Gemke, was facing Ng Ka Long Angus from Hong Kong in the quarterfinals.

Ng Ka Long won the first game 13-21, but the Dane came back and took second game 21-12. The deciding game was close, but in the end Gemke ended up winning the match 22-20.

In the semifinal he will be facing Kento Momota.

Close, but still not enough

Once again Viktor Axelsen from Denmark was facing the world number 1, Kento Momota from Japan.

The Japanese machine won the first game 21-18, but the Dane came back in the second game and won 21-12 after a solid performance and leading the entire game, sending the match into a decider. It was clear that Axelsen, despite keeping up with the pace for the first half of the decider, was running out of steam, losing it 21-16.

After this win Momota now has a 12-match winning streak against Axelsen.
