On Tuesday 10 December 2019, there will be a meeting at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) as the Certificated Training Centre (CTC) concept is under revision. Sport Directors and responsible staff are invited to talk about the structure and criteria of the new CTC concept.

Back in 2009 Badminton Europe announced that they wanted to establish a network of Badminton Europe Certificated Training Centres. The idea is to certify those centres that have the required standard and to cooperate in offering training for talented players from other Member Associations by awarding scholarships.

We spoke with two of the participants about their expectations of the meeting and why it is important for them to be a CTC.

Mr Fabian Lange, Head Coach in Germany

- Hopefully some more knowledge, and information about how we can collaborate with other CTCs and the CoE.

- We are a big club in Germany. We hope to get international players and a little bit of exchange with these players.

Mr Michal Langer, Head of Organization and Development in Poland

- I expect to find out possibilities of how to become a CTC for badminton and how to collaborate with other facilities. To find better solutions to exchange training, coaches, players and the way we understand badminton.

- We do not want to be just a training centre. We want to be a CTC, to fulfil those rules and to satisfy the players and coaches.
