Felix Burestedt, 25, is Sweden’s best men’s singles player at the moment ranked as number 57 in the World Ranking.
Burestedt joined the Centre of Excellence in Holbæk, Denmark back in September 2017 when it opened. For the past 2,5 years he has been practicing there, he has learnt a lot of things.
- Mainly I have developed a better structure around myself and in myself being professional. I would also say my game is more structured and solid than it was before.
One of the coaches at the Centre of Excellence is Kestutis Navickas, former professional men’s singles player from Lithuania, who Burestedt is working with.
- Kestutis has helped me a lot in the process of being more professional and structured around my badminton, with all things. Of course, also more related things to my game.
Commenting on what he thinks has improved the most in his game since his arrival at Centre of Excellence.
- I have a bit more patience in my game and my tactical side of the game has improved.

His own expectations
All players have some expectations for themselves. Some set their expectations very high, where others set their expectations lower. Asking what Burestedt expects from himself in the near future he says.
- I expect myself to come back to the circuit in better shape when the tournaments start again, as I am focusing a lot on my physical shape at the moment.
Next time we will see Burestedt in live action could be at the Final 4 in the Danish league, which will be held 19 and 20 June 2020.
