The two young Danes already made it to the quarter finals after winning their opening match on home soil.
Before today's match, Danish Christine Busch/Amalie Schulz had met Annabella Jaeger/Stine Küspert from Germany twice, and the Danes brought the momentum from the first two wins against the Germans.
In just 12 minutes the Danes had secured the first game 21-9. In the second game it was a much closer and the pairs fought with everything they had. In the end, the Danes came out strongest and won 23-21.
- I am really relieved right now, we played really well, Busch said.
- We were both very nervous but we talked about it before the match. I think it was good to remind each other that the most important thing was to keep moving, Schulz added.
Into the quarter final
Busch and Schulz are ready for the quarter final as the Japanese pair, Nami Matsuyama/ Chihura Shida, has withdrawn.
- We saw that last night and of course it put a lot more pressure on us, but it is really nice to be through to the quarter final, Busch stated.
In the quarter final they will face either Jenny Moore/ Victoria Williams from England or Julie Macpherson/Ciara Torrance from Scotland as seventh seeds, Rachel Honderich/Kristen Tsai from Canada, also have withdrawn.
