Welsh Jordan Hart is ready for the second round at Denmark Open after beating Miranda Wilson from Germany.

Going into the all-European matchup Jordan Hart was the favorite against the five-year younger Miranda Wilson, who in February made her debut for the German team at the 2020 European Women’s Team Championships in France.

Hart, who had never played Wilson before, took the lead from the beginning of the first game, but despite of trailing, Wilson fought her way back into the game, and at the interval it was all even. From 12-12 it was again Hart having the momentum, and the Welsh took the first game 21-16.

- I did not know to expect. We have not played for a long time now, and I think most of us feel the same way. I put a bit of pressure on myself, because I had the feeling that this was a match I could win, Jordan Hart said.

- A bit crazy
Miranda Wilson is still gaining experience from the top level of international badminton, while Jordan Hart has been on the BEC Circuit and BWF World Tour for quite some time, and for now Wilson will have to wait on getting more matches on the Super 750 level. Hart won the second game 21-13.

On Thursday Jordan Hart will be facing the 2017 World Champion, Nozomi Okuhara from Japan.

- It is a bit crazy. To be honest it is also a bit crazy to be at a 750 tournament, but I am enjoying the experience, and now the focus is to gain as much experience as possible and perform, Hart stated.
