The reigning European Champions had no issues winning their first match at Denmark Open.

Two weeks ago Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva won the Bulgarian International Championships on home soil, and on Thursday they showed that the Bulgarian European Champions is one of the pair to beat, if you want to do well at the Denmark Open 2020.

The Stoeva sisters dominated from the very beginning of the opening game against Danish Mette Poulsen and Alexandra Bøje, who did not get the lead at any point during the match.

Single digits
In 31 minutes The Stoevas won in straight games 21-7 21-9 and are through to the quarter finals.

- It was great to be back on court. It is an amazing feeling, Stefani Stoeva said.

- It helped us that we had a few matches in Bulgaria, but the level here is different, and it is hard to play at this level after a long break, Gabriela Stoeva mentioned.

Rematch!

The Denmark Open 2020 quarter finals will be a rematch of the 2018 European Championships women’s doubles final. Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva will play French Anne Tran and Emilie Lefel on Friday.

- We are looking forward to this match. We know them pretty well, and we expect a tough match. We will be ready!, Stefani Stoeva stated.
