After losing the opening tie at the 2020 European Junior Championships, Switzerland is back in the game.

The Swiss team was off to a though start losing the opening tie 4-1 against France on Thursday, but the Swiss talents bounced back beating Slovenia in the second tie of the group stage.

It was all even after the two singles. Julie Franconville won the women’s singles for Switzerland, while Rok Kuprivec made the equalizer winning the men’s singles, before the Swiss team again took the lead winning the women’s doubles. Julie Franconville won her second match of the tie alongside partner Caroline Racloz.

Stay strong
Mathis Chanthakesone and Nicolas Franconville became the match winners for Switzerland winning the men’s doubles in a thrilling three-games-match. The Swiss beat Gal Bizjak and Rok Kuprivec 27-25 16-21 21-16.

- I am quite happy to win a match. We are quite young. In the third game we decided to stay strong and keep up the pace, and that was the right way to play, Chanthakesone and Franconville said.

Switzerland won 4-1 against Slovenia and tonight the Swiss will be facing Ukraine.
