The Hungarian was close to beating former European Games winner.

The Olympic qualification is back on, and on the second day of the Swiss Open, Laura Sarosi, Hungary, was close to secure not only some good points for the ranking but also a big win.

Sarosi yesterday learnt that she could enter the tournament coming off the reserve list.

- I arrived in the weekend and was just waiting to go on court. I got the information yesterday afternoon when I came to practice, Sarosi stated

Keep running
Line Kjaersfeldt, who is ranked 50 spots above Sarosi on the world ranking, won the opening game 21-15, before Sarosi fought back winning the second game 24-22 surviving four match points.

- My strategy was to give back everything because that is my game to keep the rally.

- I do not play this kind of opponent often, because they are higher ranked, and I was a bit scared if I could keep the pace with her, Sarosi said.

Playing as much as possible
Sarosi took the lead in the third game but at 16-16 Kjaersfeldt took back control. The Danish European Games winner won the final game 21-19.

- I am at the edge for Tokyo and trying to play all tournaments that I can, Sarosi stated.

In the second round Line Kjaersfeldt will be facing either Estonian Kristin Kuuba or Pornpawee Chochuwong from Thailand, who is seeded three in the tournament.
