The new PCR test for assistant national coach of Denmark, Thomas Stavngaard is negative for Covid-19. This means that the entire Danish team can participate in All England.

- We are happy and relieved that we can get started, Jens Meibom, Elite and Sport Director at Badminton Denmark, stated in a press release.

Yesterday, Thomas Stavngaard received a positive test result for his Covid-19 test. It has turned out to be a false positive result. Thomas Stavngaard was allowed to take another test, since several PCR tests performed for All England have been shown to be either false positive or inconclusive.

Relieved
Thomas Stavngaard got the negative test result just after midnight Wednesday. Following the result, BWF, the tournament management and the local authorities have decided that Thomas Stavngaard and the rest of the Danish team can participate in All England.

- First and foremost, we are happy that Thomas Stavngaard was able to get a new test, which has shown that he was not ill. Now, we are happy and relieved that we can get started and that all players and coaches can participate, Meibom said.

The first matches at the All England 2021 will begin at 15.00 (CET)
