Badminton Europe has worked on creating a new and fresh Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with each Member Association. Currently, Badminton Europe is pleased to record 45 Member Associations already signing their MoU. So, what is it about?

An MoU is a legally non-binding agreement that outlines details of a mutual understanding which highlights each side’s requirements and responsibilities.

The process of building these documents and the eventual implementation of them is crucial to developing strong long-term relationships. The MoU for each Member Association caters to their specific needs and aspirations.

Making Europe stronger
With healthy ongoing discussions continuing with many Member Associations, Badminton Europe President, Peter Tarcala, explains the foundations of this initiative.

-There is a common understanding from our Member Associations that based on the survey we did in 2019 and 2020 we have identified the strengths and weaknesses of our Member Associations, and with this Memorandum of Understanding, we would like to develop, help and support the MAs.

-The result should be a stronger and more developed sport of badminton in Europe, Peter Tarcala adds.

General Secretary of Badminton Europe, Brian Agerbak, shares his optimism behind the project’s long-term and far-reaching benefits.

-The MoUs will be living documents that will continue to be the backbone of the cooperation with our members. I am confident that this targeted approach will help our efforts to develop badminton in Europe.

The signature count so far
Badminton Europe would like to have an understanding with most, if not all, of its 54 members. Recent additions to the list are two green Members, Spain and France.

As of 10 June 2021, 45 MAs have signed the MoU.
