The YONEX Slovenia Future Series 2022 will be taking place 24-27 November 2022 in Maribor, Slovenia.
The second-largest city in Slovenia will be hosting once again the YONEX Slovenia Future Series. Many of Europe’s top upcoming talents will be competing from tomorrow until Sunday 24 November for the title.
Heading the seeded entries in both singles categories, we find two of the country’s best players. In men’s singles, Miha Ivanič from Slovenia is the top seed and completing the seeding list we have three Danes — Karan Rajan Rajarajan, Jeppe Bruun, and Victor Ørding Kauffmann — and the reigning champion of the tournament, Indonesia’s Andi Fadel Muhammad.
Women's singles top seed Petra Polanc is another big chance for Slovenia to achieve a great result on home soil but there will be other strong players contending the top spots, including Dounia Pelupessy, Switzerland, and Heli Neiman, Israel.
Polanc will also be competing in mixed doubles together with Miha Ivančič. There will be some tough competition in the event, such as top seeds Mihajlo Tomic/ Andjela Vitman (Serbia), Lucas Renoir/ Tea Margueritte (France), and fellow French player Nicolas Hoareau who will be partnering with Ramona Üprus (Estonia).
Üprus will be playing together with Catlyn Kruus in the women’s doubles. Other pairs to watch out for are that of Serena Au Yeong/ Katharina Hochmeir (Austria) and Tea Margueritte/ Camille Pognante (France). Playing on home soil, Lia Salehar finished as runner-up last year with Nika Arih — as well as earning another medal in the mixed doubles —, but this year she will be partnering with Sweden’s Malena Norrman.
Men’s doubles will also give interesting fights between Europe’s young talents. There are two strong seeded French duos, Mael Cattoen/ Lucas Renoir and Nicolas Hoareau/ Aymeric Tores. Poland’s Maksymilian Danielak/ Mateusz Danielak and Switzerland’s Arthur Boudier/ Minh Quang Pham could also have a chance at a big result in Maribor.
