Badminton Europe are pleased to invite selected players to a 15 day training camp in July and August 2023 in Malaysia based on performances at the 2022 European Junior Championship held in Belgrade, Serbia. The camp is a part of the World Class programme, a programme which supports the development of European top players and the strongest talents in Europe through various projects. The camp has been developed with the support of the BEC High Performance Commission.

The camp will last from 22 July to 5 August 2023 and give Europe’s most promising talents the chance to participate in the national team training of Malaysia at the national training centre. The Malaysian coaches will be leading the training sessions.

“Goals for the camp are to support the development of a High Performance mindset for the best European Junior players and to develop and improve discipline specific badminton skills but also give the players a “first hand” experience of conditions of training and competing in Asia and also playing against Asian players”, explains BEC Development and High Performance Senior Manager Jacob Ohlenschlaeger.

High level sparring for the best European Junior players through training with high level Asian players will have a positive impact on the development of the young athletes. Furthermore, the chance to experience the Asian climate and training culture will be a valuable experience on the long road to becoming a World Class badminton player.
