The YONEX Canada Open 2023 continues to witness remarkable performances from European players.

Rasmus Kjær and Frederik Søgaard delivered a stunning upset by defeating the fourth-seeded Chinese Taipei pair Lu Ching Yao and Yang Po Han in just two games, 21-17 21-9. Similarly, Magnus Johannesen triumphed big over Hong Kong's Lee Cheuk Yiu, sixth-seeded, with a solid 21-13 22-20 win.

Julien Carraggi's impressive form persisted as he faced Israel's Misha Zilberman. In a clash of two strong European athletes, Carraggi claimed a commanding straight-game victory, 23-21 21-13. The Belgian player's remarkable performance in his Super 500 debut is undoubtedly turning heads.

While some Europeans faced defeat in the Round of 16, they did not go down without a fight. Julie Dawall Jakobsen put up a spirited performance against the current world number one, Akane Yamaguchi. The Dane showcased her resilience, winning the first game, but eventually lost the match, 15-21, 21-17, 21-16.

Jenjira Stadelmann, fresh off her bronze medal win at the European Games, also displayed a strong performance against China's Gao Fang Jie. Despite a valiant effort, Stadelmann bid farewell to the tournament, with a narrow loss in the second game, 14-21 20-22.
