The US Open 2023 in Council Bluffs, USA, are starting today with qualification in singles and the first rounds in men's and women's doubles. Many Europeans hoping for a great week at the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300 event in Iowa.

One of the first European players to step on court today will be Fabian Roth from Germany. After beating Kento Momota last week in Canada and getting in a good result by reaching the round of 16 at a Super 500 event, Roth will need to proof his form in today's opener against Adham Hatem Elgamal from Egypt. The match will start at 4:00pm CET.

In men's doubles, Ronan Labar and Lucas Corve from France start their US campaign as second seeded pair in the draw. The current world number 29 will face Chua/Syazmil (USA) in the first round.

After losing twice to Yang/Chiu in 2022 Frederik Søgaard and Rasmus Kjaer from Denmark took revenge last week in the quarterfinals of the Canada Open in Calgary. The Danes finished the Super 500 in Calgary with a sensational runner-up position. Tomorrow they will need to repeat last week's performance in the first round of the US Open when they will face the pair from Chinese Taipei once again.
