In a stunning turn of events, Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen broke their streak of four consecutive losses against opponents Liu and Ou.

The Danish duo secured their place in the French Open finals with a score of 21-17 21-19. Their post-match interview for BWF was touching, and their remarks shed light on the hard-fought journey leading up to this remarkable triumph.

"We have been waiting a long time for this win. We've struggled a lot with Liu, so it feels like a huge win. It was a good match," Astrup declared with an air of satisfaction.

Their victory didn't just boil down to luck; Astrup and Rasmussen attributed their newfound edge to a shift in their playing style. "I definitely feel like we have a different kind of power in our attack. They're world-class players, so we're really happy about this victory," Rasmussen said.

Astrup's response to a question about the pair being at the prime of their careers revealed a newfound confidence. "Definitely. You can tell that we have confidence now, and we know that it takes a very good match to beat us. So, we're just riding the wave at the moment. I think every spectator in there could see that we enjoyed every second of it. It feels amazing right now,"

"There's a sense of 'we're not going to play forever, make the most of it,' and also, we have in some periods doubted ourselves a lot, and we've never managed consecutive wins. For the first time in our careers, we are on a wave and we are not on top and then down. We're stable," continued Rasmussen.

We now eagerly await their performance in the finals, as Astrup and Rasmussen remain the only Europeans in the finals.
