The VICTOR Swedish Open 2025 concluded with yet another successful edition, with home favourites, established players, and emerging talents stealing the show.

The tournament gave the local audience a great women’s doubles final as the Sjoo sisters got to compete in the fight for the title, thanks to their impressive run throughout the week. Moa and Tilda Sjoo powered through to the final with victories in straight games, though they ultimately finished as runners-up, falling to Bengisu Ercetin/Nazlıcan Inci from Türkiye, 14-21, 17-21.

Ercetin/Inci’s victory in women’s doubles was not the only title win for Türkiye; the nation celebrated a double win as Neslihan Arin, three-time European Championships bronze medallist, got the women’s singles title, with Léonice Huet finishing as runner-up.

In men’s singles, Arnaud Merkle won the title in his first tournament of the year. Having reached the quarterfinals in the Scottish Open and the European Championships last year, this victory provides a strong start to 2025 for the French player.

In fact, French players continue to dominate in the doubles categories with four French pairs standing on the podium. Mael Cattoen/Lucas Renoir secured a runner-up finish in men’s doubles, while Margot Lambert/Camille Pognante made a strong showing in women’s doubles with a bronze. In mixed doubles, Grégoire Deschamp/Margot Lambert took home the title, with William Villeger/Flavie Vallet earning bronze.

The English duo of Chua Yue Chern/Koon Fung Kelvin Ho delivered yet another remarkable performance on the circuit. Having now claimed two titles this year in the BEC Elite Circuit, they continue to build and improve on their success from last autumn, which includes quarterfinal finishes and a third place at the Hungarian International, followed by a runner-up position at the Welsh International.

The BEC Elite Circuit continues, with the RSL Iceland International as the last tournament before the break for the continental team events. Stay tuned for more information on the Future Series event taking place this week.
