The Sjoo sisters have triumphantly taken the women's doubles crown at the International Series, six years after Swedish players last clinched a title at the Swedish Open.

The last time Swedes held the title was in 2018 when another women’s doubles pair, Emma Karlsson and Johanna Magnusson, won the tournament.

Moa and Tilda Sjoo narrowly missed the final last year, falling in the semifinals. This year, the sisters cruised through the early rounds in straight games, setting up a challenging semifinal against the French duo Tea Margueritte/ Flavie Vallet. In a thrilling three-game match, the Swedes emerged victorious, 21-12, 13-21, 21-11.

The final pitted them against Danes Amalie Cecilie Kudsk/ Signe Schulz. “We are so incredibly satisfied with this victory,” Moa Sjoo reflected in an interview with Badminton Sweden. Tilda added, “To play at home, with the support from the stands, was crazy.”

The success for Swedish badminton didn't stop there. Filip Karlborg/ Mio Molin clinched a commendable runner-up spot on home soil, while the men’s doubles title was taken by William Kryger Boe/ Christian Faust Kjær from Denmark.

The mixed doubles saw an all-Danish final, with Rasmus Espersen/ Amalie Cecilie Kudsk securing victory over Jeppe Søby/ Kathrine Vang. In the singles categories, top seed Pablo Abian from Spain emerged as the men’s singles champion, while India’s Devika Sihag, impressively climbing from the qualification rounds, clinched the women’s singles title.
