Villeger: I like to take the time

The French doubles player, William Villeger, 19, has despite his young age, already shown great results on the big stage.

Villeger usually plays on the circuit, where he plays mixed doubles with Sharone Bauer and men’s doubles with Samy Corvée. When playing on the circuit, a lot of the same players participate in those tournaments. Asking who he hangs out with most on the circuit, not including his national team, he said.

- I usually stay with my girlfriend, then I play with more on the court.

Even though Villeger plays both categories, there is still some time to pass in between the matches. When it is time to play again, you need to motivate yourself to be in the right mood.

- Between matches I rest and eat to regain strength. Then to prepare for my matches I like to come early enough to be in the mood and take the time to warm up.

Successes at an early age

Asking about who has been the standout opponent, Villeger answered.

- It's the Mogensen/Kolding pair. I knew that this match would be hard before playing against them. Then we managed to produce a very nice game with my partner Samy Corvée and we are very happy to have won this match.

Some other highlights of William Villager’s badminton career so far have been:

- European Champion with the French Junior Team and European Junior Champion in men’s doubles. Then my first medal with the French senior team.
