Stefani Stoeva wins two gold medals on home soil

The YONEX Bulgarian International Championship 2024 commenced last week, and for the home-crowd in attendance it was a crowd-pleaser event with the Stoeva sisters winning the Double’s category and Stefani Stoeva winning the Women’s Singles. 

Winning a European Circuit tournament in women’s doubles is par for the course for the 17th-world ranked sisters, however doing it against their fellow countrywomen Tanya Ivanova/ Gergana Pavlova made it that more special for the Bulgarian fans.  

Stefani Stoeva’s return to singles: 
Even more special was Stefani Stoeva's successful endeavor in singles. After last week, where she finished in third place in another Future Series tournament, she finally succeeded this week by clinching her first singles title since 2014. This was despite having to play the qualifying rounds, demonstrating her skill and talent. In the finals, she again faced Gergana Pavlova.
