Chair of the Umpire Assessment Panel
Iris Metspalu (EST) has been appointed as chair of the Umpire Assessment Panel by the Chair of the Technical Officials Commission.
The main role of the chair of the umpire assessment panel shall be assisting the Badminton Europe staff on the education of European umpires and includes tasks such as:
1) Coordinate umpire selections for:
- BEC National umpire workshop and appraisal (NUWA)
- Umpires going for BEC Accredited and Certificated Assessments
- Umpires going for BEC Accredited and Certificated Appraisals
- Umpires going for BEC coaching sessions towards BWF
- Umpires going for BWF Assessment
2) Supervision of:
- Umpires' Record of Work
- Reports from BEC National umpire workshop and appraisal (NUWA)
- Reports from BEC Umpire Assessments Reports from BEC Umpire Appraisals
- The BASIS National Umpire Education Programme (NUEP)
3) Prepare/coordinate:
- The umpire assessment panel meetings
- The content of the NUWA and NUEP
- The umpires selected for the BWF assessment (written test)
4) Coordinate assessors selections for:
- NUWA and NUEP
- Umpires going for BEC Accredited and Certificated Assessments
- Umpires going for BEC Accredited and Certificated Appraisals
- Umpires going for BEC coaching sessions towards BWF
The chair of the umpire assessment panel is a member of the Technical Officials Commission and is appointed by the Chair of the Technical Officials Commission.
It shall be pointed out that the chair of the umpire assessment panel‘s work is made as assistance and recommendations to Badminton Europe, and that all appointments are confirmed by the Chair of the Technical Officials Commission before being announced.
Gunars Lusveris (LAT) has been appointed as deputy chair of the Umpire Assessment Panel to assist/replace the chair when/if needed.
